Best of Both Worlds:
Easy access to work
A wonderful place to live
A Transit Oriented Community
Crossroads Station will be a 62 acre mixed-use development next to the future Virginia Railway Express station in Spotsylvania County. Landowners George Lester and Fitz Johnson are creating a quality community with immediate access to the new VRE station.
As the crown jewel, the VRE station will sit along the Amtrak line, equidistant from Richmond to the nation's capital. Amtrak is also planning high speed rail service along this corridor in the future, making Spotsylvania an ideal location for one of the few stops that will be included when high speed rail on the East Coast becomes a reality.
For the past seven years, Lester and Johnson have been meeting with county officials, county residents, state and other transportation officials to design a development where people can work where they live or commute north by walking to a VRE station. They intend to attract professional-oriented employers that will compel Northern Virginia residents to commute south, thus making VRE a true two-way commuter rail service. There are already major employers nearby, including the Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center, Germanna Community College and Fort A.P. Hill.
